The name derives from that of its last two owners, Aulus Vettius Restitutus and
Aulus Vettius Conviva. The plan of the house is divided into two parts. In fact the masters' quarters are laid out around the main atrium and the \b \cf1 \ATXht16 peristyle\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 , while the servants' quarters with the kitchen and lodgings ext
end from the secondary atrium on the northeast side. The most striking feature of this house is its wall paintings, almost all of them executed after the earthquake of 62 AD and therefore still in good condition.\par
